Highly Reliable Systems, Inc. was conceived by Darren McBride in 2003. From experience, Darren saw that tape systems performed in field far below what most manufacturer's claims supported. As a provider of IT solutions, he was frustrated many, many times by the over promise and under deliver reality of tape back systems. As a trained engineer, Darren knew there was a better way. Darren created the first High-Rely systems to change the industry away from tape and place it on the interface standards developed for hard drives. Many companies have followed suit since then and today, removable hard drive backup systems are mostly accepted as the way to do backup.
